EOC Week 4: My New App
Having a passion in video production, a huge problem that tends to screw up fellow filmmakers and producers is the problem of not seeing a clear difference between what we’ve recorded on the camera screen, as opposed to if it were to be seen on a more prominent monitor screen or projector. The color and white balance would be just fine on the camera screen, but once it would get brought into a monitor or projector, it would be way off and it could potentially jeopardize your entire project. My solution is an app on your smartphone that would basically allow you to view your footage without having to carry a giant monitor with you called the “ScreenAssist”. Once the app is downloaded, you will be able to connect it with your camera using an HDMI adapter and the other end will plug straight into your phone, from there you can start up the app and let the connection take place. Another handy feature on the app is the ability to edit the raw footage straight from your phone; adjust the white balance, contrast, temperature, you name it. The app wouldn’t cost anything, but of course you would have to purchase the HDMI adapter from our site, or if you happen to have your own adapter then you are free to use it. The mission behind the development of ScreenAssist is to help out filmmakers and producers in freeing the issue of not properly viewing your footage before bringing it into editing or even after that, but fo those who already have a monitor, they tend to be big, bulky, or they just take up a lot of space and really, it is very irritating. ScreenAssist will forever be the most important and handy video apps you will ever download into your smartphone.
