Week 1 EOC: Great Customer Service

Great customer service lies in the will of the employee to help his/her customers with excellent care and consideration without wasting the time of the customer and/or the employee themself. “The customers’ evaluation of a good or service in terms of whether that good or service has met their needs and expectations…” (Lamb, 8). Great customer service isn’t rare to find, but it’s just taken for granted most of the time. Personally, restaurants are the only places where customer service stands out the most and where it’s easiest to know who truly excels at great customer service. Just recently, my family and I enter a restaurant which is normally known to have staggering amounts of people in attendance eating there, but it was fairly late so there weren’t many people present. As soon as we enter through the main entrance we were instantly greeted by the host standing there with a smile on his face which automatically let me know that he strives to make a good impression of customers he encounters. He then politely tells my family and I to stand in a certain area while we wait to be seated. A few minutes pass by and we were then greeted by the waiter who seated us at our table. Once we were seated, the waiter of course gave us time to look over our menus and informed us that our server will be with us shortly, and he was right. Throughout our experience there that night, my family and I were very well pleased with how well our server took care of us; starting from our drinks to our check, it certainly was a pleasure to have someone as tentative and polite as he was. Customer service still exists just about everywhere you go, with a few exceptions of course, but you’ll know it when you experience it yourself.
